Privacy Policy for Sortapp

Effective Date: 2024-11-17

1. Data Collection and Storage

Sortapp is designed to operate entirely offline, meaning that your data remains on your device and is never sent to external servers or the cloud. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data, inventory details, or usage statistics.

2. User Data

  • Home Inventory: All items and places you add to Sortapp are stored locally on your phone.
  • Backups: Backups are created manually by you and saved to locations you choose (e.g., a file system, external storage, or cloud services you use). Sortapp does not automatically upload or store backup files on external servers.

3. Security of Your Data

Sortapp stores all data, including your inventory details and images, locally on your device within Apple’s secure sandbox environment. This ensures that your data is protected by the same security measures Apple provides to all iOS apps, including system-level encryption and restricted access to app data.

While your data is secure within the app, additional measures can enhance its protection:

  • Keep your device secured with a strong password or biometric authentication.
  • Safeguard backup files by storing them in trusted locations and using encryption where possible.

Sortapp does not access or share your inventory data under any circumstances. The security of your data also depends on the precautions you take when managing your device and backups.

4. Payment Processing

Sortapp uses Apple’s in-app purchase system to handle payments for increasing inventory limits. Apple handles all payment processing, and we do not collect or store any payment information. For details about Apple’s privacy practices, refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy.

5. User Control

  • Adding and Editing Data: You have full control over your home inventory. You can add, edit, or delete any item or place at any time.
  • Backups: You can create, store, and delete backups manually.

6. Data Sharing

Sortapp does not share your data with third parties. Your home inventory remains private and accessible only on your device unless you choose to share a backup file with others.

7. Lost or Damaged Devices

If your phone is lost or damaged, your inventory can only be restored using a backup file that you created and stored. Sortapp does not retain any copies of your data, so restoration is only possible through your saved backups.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in our app or legal requirements. Any updates will be reflected in the app, and the "Effective Date" will be updated accordingly.
